Tami Havens lives in lovely, rural Juliustown New Jersey with her husband and daughter. She began her accounting career in January 1982 when she took a job as an administrative assistant with an industrial filtration product distributor. That administrative assistant job was in a small office so it included invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll duties. It was at this first job that she first fell in love with the art of accounting. Since then she has held various accounting positions: accounts payable administrator for a manufacturer of electronic components; full-charge bookkeeper for a van line tradeshow logistics agent; payroll tax administrator and junior accountant in the corporate office of a multi-national corporation; and finally ten years as a senior accountant for a manufacturer serving the automobile industry. She is proud to return to her small business roots in 2007 with the founding of Virtual Accounting Haven. Tami earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree in 1999 from Thomas Edison State College in Trenton New Jersey. She strongly believes in continuing her education both formally and informally. Over the years she has mastered many computer software packages. In 2006 she became an ADP Certified Payroll Specialist. Today, her goal is to maximize customer satifaction by using the latest and best office technoligies to provide superior, cost effective services. IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT ACCOUNTING?
